Miracles do happen

I passed the PRAXIS I exam. Not with flying colors but I passed.

Induction is already here and I’m currently in Cleveland. No, not Ohio but Mississippi. My drive started on Monday and after a nights rest in Nashville, I arrived in Cleveland Tuesday afternoon.

After unloading my car (second floor, no elevator) I took a quick nap and then headed to the festivities.

The highlight of the ceremony was hearing the Civil Rights activist James Meredith speak. He warned the incoming Delta corps that the disadvantages in the Mississippi education system are not here by accident but created on purpose. I think it shocked some people to hear that but it needs to be said. This country is still dealing with the racism from the past.

After induction two friends of mine took me to Hey Joe’s, a dive bar down the street. They have veg friendly room and delicious sweet potato fries.

PRAXIS II on Saturday. Let’s hope I can find time to study.
