Thine eyes do not fool you. I am up before the butt crack of dawn to drive to Monticello, AR to take the PRAXIS II in English Lit. Am I ready to pass the test? YES! And I will pass this test.
A friend of mine back home was asking me why I was even bother studying for a test about books and concepts studied through my whole life and that answer is because I must pass. Matty B explained to us the other day that if we do not pass, there won’t be another corps member to step in and take our place. The students at your school may not have a biology teacher or what ever subject you are teaching because you didn’t study.
Southern Hospitality is real.
I’ve lived in the south before (Mobile, AL) so I already know about the close knit communities and the family life atmosphere but last night I had the pleasure of being the guest of Ms. Carol Tatum. Ms. Carol is a sweet woman in Cleveland, Mississippi who opened her house to the corps for a laid back community dinner. The hosts of the dinner pulled out all the stops and made us feel like honored guests. It was great to get away from the cafeteria for a night and to sit on a porch swing drinking sweet tea. Now that’s the life.
Alright. Must hit the road. Until next time
